Skiing & Snowboarding
First on the list, and for a reason, is Kelowna’s Big White Ski Resport. This world renowned resort is located just an hour from Kelowna, and features some of the best riding in the world. Big White has 118 runs, and outdoor skating rink, tube slide, and more! If the weather starts to get too cold, there are many places in the village to warm up and get cozy.
Outdoor Skating Downtown
Visit the outdoor skating rink at Stuart Park downtown Kelowna. The rink is free and provides skate rentals if you need them. The rink is beautifully designed with spotlights and twinkle lights on the trees that surround it. If you’re lucky enough to have it to yourself, it can be a very romantic spot.
Snowshoeing in Kettle Valley
The KVR (Kettle Valley Railway) is a very popular spot in winter. This historical area of Kelowna looks amazing in the winter. Many residents take up snowshoeing as a fun activity and this is the perfect spot for it. If you don’t have your own snowshoes there are plenty of rental companies in town.
