What is a hostel?
A hostel accommodation is an affordable home away from home. It is a place that you can go to rest your weary head when on the road, or a place you can set up camp at to call home for an economical extended stay at that beautiful place or ski resort that you happened to stumble upon.
Can anyone stay?
We do have a minimum age requirement of 18 for our accommmodations in Vancouver, British Columbia (BC) and Banff, Alberta however no memberships are required.
Do you need to bring your own linens?
We supply linens for all dorm accommodations and private room accommodation stays in Alberta and British Columbia (BC).
Are the hostelling accommodations safe and secure?
At our hostels, we do have locks on main doors and accommodation room doors and lockers to secure your possessions and hostel staff are always on hand to ensure everyone enjoys their stay, safely.
Do you get your own bathroom and kitchen?
For all of our Alberta and British Columbia (BC) locations, the washrooms and kitchens are always shared facilities for use by all guests. Some locations do have private room accommodations with private bathroom facilities.
Do you have maximum stay restrictions?
We do not offer monthly rates but do not have any restrictions for how long you can stay. For our on mountain locations, we do offer Mountain Staff long-term stay accommodation rates in Alberta and British Columbia (BC).
Do you offer airport/bus pickup drop off services?
We do not offer any shuttle services but check out the directions page on each hostel listing on how to get to us.
Do you offer discounts for hostelling guests?
Yes, our hostelling guests have access to savings on restaurants, ski supplies and gear, discounted lift tickets, plus much more!
Are you family friendly?
Many SameSun locations are ideal for families, some are not. It is best to call ahead, or inquire through an online form or via email to ensure your needs are best met.
Are there age restrictions?
For Vancouver, British Columbia (BC) accommodation and Rocky Mountain Banff, Alberta accommodation the minimum age to stay is 18.
Are you pet friendly?
Unfortunately, due to the diversity of travelers we have staying with us, we simply cannot allow pets into our facilities due to health regulations. We do love them though! "sniff".
What are your front desk hours?
Our front desk hours for most accommodations locations are 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, 7 days a week. In Banff, Alberta and Vancouver, British Columbia (BC) front desk services are available 24 hours a day.
