Thank you for your interest in working with SameSun Backpacker Lodges
and Canadian Ski Hostels. As we all know, the budget accommodation
industry is one that is growing significantly every year and is hopefully
on the verge of a major breakthrough similar to the booms seen in
Australia and New Zealand a decade ago. Certainly British Columbia
is one of the most beautiful places in the world and Canada as visitor-friendly
a nation there is. The elements are all there and growth is already
going in the right direction for not only Canada, but North America
as a whole.
Hopefully, in a few years we can all just open our doors and there
will be so many backpackers around that our hostels will all be
full. Unfortunately, that 'boom' has not yet happened and the reality
is that only those hostel owners who can aggressively market their
product are able to turn a profit. Marketing is not cheap, however,
and hostels wanting to 'get their name out there' generally must
pool their resources together to maximize economies of scale. Besides
joining the Death Star (i.e. a certain stodgy hostelling organization
currently dominating the market), there haven’t been any marketing
options for smaller, individual hostels...until now.
SameSun Backpacker Lodges/Canadian Ski Hostels annually spends
close to $150,000 on marketing and advertising our 8 facilities
in Kelowna, Big White, Silver Star, Revelstoke, Fernie, Banff and
Vancouver. We are looking at a relationship that is mutually beneficial
for us (by offsetting some of these heavy costs) and exclusively
affiliated hostels (who get the marketing benefits of a large hostel
network with a fraction of the costs).
The bottom line is it is impossible to do a proper marketing job
from the advertising budget off one hostel. So don't go it alone...Become
