Finding your way through the Rocky Mountains to our friendly accommodation couldn’t be easier. Check out these directions below to get yourself into your next Samesun hostelling experience.

The Calgary Airport to our accommodation

Calgary Airport is Alberta’s largest airport servicing Canadian & International traffic.

If you are flying into the Calgary Airport, the most affordable transport option is the Banff Airporter Shuttle. It will drop you off right at the door of the Samesun Backpacker Hostel at 433 Banff Avenue. The Banff Airporter Bus costs $56 leaves from the Calgary Airport’s domestic terminal and drives you right into the heart of the Rocky Mountains. You could also take a City Taxi. Costs will range from $100-$150 CDN.

By Car from Calgary to our accommodation

Starting from the Calgary Airport, depart via Barlow Trail (head towards Calgary City Center). Take 16th Avenue West exit and turn right onto 16th Ave. W. Remain on 16th Ave. W. through Calgary, it becomes the Trans-Canada Highway #1. This will weave you through the growing mountains in Alberta and eventually will take you through the park gates to the exit for the town of Banff (about 90mins).

Take the first exit into Banff (you are now on Banff Ave.) The Samesun accommodation is located on the main stretch of Banff Ave, so you will drive right past our hostel. We are on the corner near Marten St. right next to the gas station (433 Banff Ave.)

From the Banff Greyhound Bus Station to our accommodation

If you take any Canadian bus line coming into Alberta, you will arrive at the Greyhound bus station. This is just around the corner from our backpacker accommodation. Take a short walk down Elk Street to Banff Avenue then turn left and continue about 5mins until you see the smiling sun at the front of the hostel. Total walking time around 10 mins­­.

The bus depot attendants will have maps of the town with Samesun hostel clearly marked.

A taxi from the bus station will cost approx. $7-10.
